Who we are
My Pointy Stick is a public browser of published leadership facts for organisations that operate in or sell to the UK. The site is at mypointystick.com.
What we collect
- Leadership records: name, role, organisation, geography, ethnicity and religion only when a source supports them, plus verification status and source URL.
- Account records if you Connect: name, email and photo the provider sends, which provider you used, and that provider's user id.
- Change history on a leadership seat: what changed, when, and which local user id made the change.
- Session cookies so you stay signed in and so the colour key remembers open or closed.
What we do not do
- We do not infer ethnicity or religion from a name or a photograph.
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not use advertising trackers on these pages.
Social sign-in
Connect uses Google, Facebook, Microsoft or X. Those companies receive the usual OAuth request. We store the profile they return so we can recognise you next time. You can sign out at /connect/. To delete an account, contact the site owner.
Legal basis and keeping data
Leadership rows are treated as information published about people in public roles. Account rows exist so you can edit or verify those rows. We keep them while the project runs unless you ask for an account to be removed.
Your requests
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your account and its connections. Leadership facts that stay on a public source may remain on the site as unknown or as a later verified row.
